Rights Information: https://digitalcollections.nypl.org/about

The New York Public Library has a collection of over 300,000 items in its digital collection that have no known copyright restrictions and are thus considered to be in the public domain. The library offers free high-resolutions downloads of public domain items that can be used without restrictions. Images that are in the public domain can be found by selecting the “Show only public domain items” from the advanced search menu on the NYPL Digital Collections search page.  Available items include theatrical programs, drawings, images of original manuscripts, maps, photos, prints, and tourism materials. Materials can be searched by broad topic categories as well (women, African Americans, Jews, military uniforms), which makes this an easy to navigate site to find publicly available digital materials of many different kinds.
